The Anne Emery Kyllo Professional Scholarship of the American Music Therapy Association has been established in Anne's memory by the Emery and Kyllo families through The Denver Foundation to support professional music therapists in their efforts to expand their training and professional interactions through participation in continuing education opportunities Award:  Three (3) cash scholarships of $500 each will be awarded annually for use towards CMTE credits. The award may be used for national and/or regional conferences, CMTE (continuing music therapy education) courses, and/or other continuing education courses that meet the Educational Activity guidelines as established by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT). CBMT guidelines state that educational activities must be at least five contact hours in duration, and must relate to the CBMT Examination Content Outline, as published in the CBMT Recertification Manual. The award may not be used for undergraduate coursework. The award may be used for post-undergraduate coursework as it relates to the clinical practice of music therapy.

The Mockingbird Foundation, Inc. ("Mockingbird") offers competitive grants to schools and nonprofit organizations that effect improvements in areas of importance to the Phish fan community. Our programmatic focus is music education for children, defined as follows: Music: We recognize broad and basic needs within conventional instruction, though are particularly interested in projects that foster creative expression (whether in instrumentation, vocalization, composition, or improvisation) and encourage applications associated with diverse or unusual musical styles, genres, forms, and philosophies. Education: Education may include the provision of instruments, texts, office materials, or equipment; the support of learning, practice, and/or performance spaces; and the provision of instructors or instruction. We appreciate the fostering of self-esteem and free expression, but have never funded music therapy separate from education nor music appreciation which does not include participation. Children: We primarily fund programs serving children eighteen years of age or younger, but will consider projects which benefit college students, teachers, instructors, or adult students. We are particularly (though not exclusively) interested in programs which benefit disenfranchised groups, including those with low skill levels, income, or education; with disabilities or terminal illnesses; and in foster homes, shelters, hospitals, prisons, or other remote or isolated situations.

The D'Addario Foundation is a unique non-profit grant-making organization providing monetary and product support to high-quality sustainable music instruction programs on the frontline to improve access to music education. We support programs that bring music back into communities and schools and get kids playing as early and as frequently as possible. The D'Addario Foundation believes in the transformative power of music and that mentoring and building communities through music can positively affect social change.

The Sparkplug Foundation primarily provides grants to start-up nonprofit organizations or new projects of established nonprofits that are addressing the fields of music, education, and community organizing. In the Music category, the Foundation supports emerging professional musicians or music-development programs. In Education and Teaching, the Foundation funds projects that deal with "the whole student" and with learning as a community activity. Through Community Organizing, the Foundation encourages activist strategies for addressing institutional injustices and for building a just society. The current focus is on ground-level community organizing at the intersection of utilities and energy infrastructure, housing and community resources, and racial justice. The Foundation also provides limited support for projects in Israel that involve Palestinian communities. The Professional Development for Arts Educators (PDAE) program supports the implementation of high-quality model professional development programs in elementary and secondary education for music, dance, drama, media arts, or visual arts, including folk arts, for educators and other arts instructional staff of kindergarten through grade 12 (K-12) students in high-poverty schools. The purpose of this program is to strengthen standards-based arts education programs and to help ensure that all students meet challenging State academic content standards and challenging State student academic achievement standards in the arts. 

Established in 1975, the ASCAP Foundation is dedicated to nurturing the music talent of tomorrow, preserving the legacy of the past, and sustaining the creative incentive for today's creators through a variety of educational, professional, and humanitarian programs and activities serving the entire music community. To that end, the foundation, in partnership with the Herb Alpert Foundation, is accepting applications to its Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Awards, a program designed to encourage talented young jazz composers. To be considered, applicants must submit an original score or chart of one composition accompanied by a CD indicating proper track (if applicable). Winning submissions will receive a cash prize to be shared equally among the co-writers of the musical work or composition. To be eligible, applicants must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or enrolled as a student in the U.S. and have a student visa. In addition, applicants must be under the age of 30 as of December 31, 2017.

Each year, approximately ten ensembles are selected to conduct regional cultural exchange tours of approximately a month in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Central and South America, and the Middle East. As part of the program activities, selected ensembles will perform high-profile public concerts, engage in intensive collaborations with local musicians, lead jam sessions, appear in the media, and offer educational activities such as workshops, music business training for aspiring musicians, and motivational and education programs for underserved youth.

The foundation awards grants to individuals and nonprofit organizations for performances of musical works by Weill and Blitzstein; for scholarly research pertaining to Weill, Lenya, Marc Blitzstein; and for relevant educational initiatives. To that end, the foundation is accepting applications for projects and performances taking place on or after January 1, 2019, and before July 1, 2020. Since 1984, the foundation has awarded more than five hundred grants totaling $3 million to organizations and scholars worldwide in support of excellence in the presentation and study of Kurt Weill's compositions. In 2013, the Blitzstein catalogue joined the list of works eligible for support. The foundation awards grants to individuals and nonprofit organizations for performances of musical works by Weill and Blitzstein, for scholarly research pertaining to Weill, Lenya, Marc Blitzstein, and for relevant educational initiatives. To that end, the foundation is accepting applications for projects and performances taking place on or after January 1, 2018, and before June 30, 2019.

A fund of $10,000 has been earmarked to support public projects in memory of Doug Dillard and Arthel "Doc" Watson. Of special interest are bluegrass music-related projects and programs that involve education or youth. This is a competitive application process and candidates must meet the Foundation's Grant Application Guidelines. Grants awarded will be announced during IBMA World of Bluegrass week, September 24-28, 2013, with funds available after January 1, 2014.

The foundation currently is accepting applications for grants to support projects that encourage education about and the performance of women's barbershop vocal music. Grant amounts will be determined on a project-by-project basis.

Grant applications are open to individuals and NFP educational, cultural and/or social justice organizations for projects meeting our Mission's objectives that utilize Fine Arts, Dance, Music, Theater, Creative Writing, Poetry, Photography, or those that create Educational Reels (only) with teaching guides of documentaries or have Public Interest Platforms/Forums such as Independent Journalists or those NFPs which engage in community non-partisan discussions.

The award recipient must come from an economically disadvantaged household, have attended a public school, participated in extracurricular programs including (an/or in addition to) programs supported by the Americans for the Arts (i.e., demonstrate a long term participation in the study of, creation in and/or performance in one or more art forms, including dance, music theatre, literary, visual/media arts), excelled academically, and  formally declared the intent to study and apply economics in their pursuit of higher education and professional career.  This includes the direct study of economics for policy purposes, to applications in the private and public sectors.  The scholarship is open to both recent high school graduates and current college undergraduates who are majoring in economics and/or the arts.

The U.S. Embassy's Public Affairs Section in Moscow (PAS Moscow) invites proposal submissions for a cooperative agreement to provide technical and logistical support for arts and cultural programming in Russia. The grant recipient will work closely with Public Affairs and Cultural Affairs at Mission Russia to identify and select American artists and performers to bring to Russia for short-term programs. Performances may include, but are not limited to music, dance, theater and film/television acting, and culinary arts. The grant may occasionally include programs for artists in the spheres of photography, comic books and graphic arts, computer art and design, arts management, painting, and other visual and graphic art. Individual athletes or groups of athletes may also be supported through this program to demonstrate their talent. The grantee will be responsible for assisting with support in the form of fee negotiation with the artists, visa assistance, in-country and international transportation arrangements, airport pickup, event promotion, procurement of educational and printed materials, and other technical and logistical support as directed by PAS Moscow. Additional examples of supporting activities include reimbursing artists for program-related expenditures and processing vendor payments for travel expenses, support, or other items.

Applicant organizations for NEA Big Read must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit; a division of state, local, or tribal government; or a tax-exempt public library. Eligible applicants include organizations such as literary centers, libraries, museums, colleges and universities, art centers, historical societies, arts councils, tribal governments, humanities councils, literary festivals, and arts organizations. Note: K-12 schools, school districts, boards of education, or other school governing bodies, whether public or private, are not eligible applicants, but may partner with eligible applicants. NEA Big Read supports organizations across the country in developing community-wide reading programs which encourage reading and participation by diverse audiences. These programs include activities such as author readings, book discussions, art exhibits, lectures, film series, music or dance events, theatrical performances, panel discussions, and other events and activities related to the community's chosen book or poet. Activities focus on one book or poet from the NEA Big Read library.

The Big Read, a program of the National Endowment for the Arts, aims to restore reading to the center of American culture. Managed by Arts Midwest, the program provides organizations with grants and comprehensive resources that support efforts to inspire their community to read and discuss a single book or the work of a poet. Community organizations participating in the Big Read develop and produce reading programs that encourage reading and participation by diverse local audiences. These programs include activities such as author readings, book discussions, art exhibits, lectures, film series, music or dance events, theatrical performances, panel discussions, and other events and activities related to the community's chosen book or poet. Activities must focus on a book or poet from the Big Read Library. Previous grantees must select a different reading choice from their previous programming. The program is accepting applications from nonprofit organizations to develop reading programs between September 1, 2018, and June 30, 2019. Organizations selected to participate receive a grant, educational and promotional materials, and access to online training resources and opportunities. Approximately seventy-five organizations will be selected from communities of varying size in the United States. Eligible organizations may apply for grants ranging between $5,000 and $15,000. Grants must be matched on a one-to-one basis with non-federal funds. Grant funds may be used for such expenses as book purchases, speaker fees and travel, salaries, advertising, and venue rental.

The Kurt Weill Foundation Grant Program awards financial support worldwide to not-for-profit organizations for performances of musical works by Kurt Weill and Marc Blitzstein, to individuals and not-for-profit organizations for scholarly research pertaining to Kurt Weill, Lotte Lenya, and Marc Blitzstein, and to not-for-profit organizations for relevant educational or scholarly initiatives.

With the goal of promoting undergraduate research, scholarship and creative activity in Arts and Humanities education, the Arts and Humanities Division will offer financial support for faculty to present  on the process and/or results of undergraduate research at regional or national Arts and/or Humanities conferences. The awards will be from $500 to $800 and up to three will be awarded for presentations that  have been accepted and presented no earlier than Sept. 1, 2013, and no later than June 30, 2014.

The principal goal of The Shubert Foundation is to support not-for-profit, professional theatre and dance companies in the United States. The program areas of Arts Related Organizations and Education are smaller than those of Theatre and Dance and necessarily limited. The Shubert Foundation awards unrestricted grants for general operating support, rather than funding for specific projects. These grants are awarded exclusively to US organizations, which must have current 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status in order to be eligible for funding. The Foundation provides grants only to organizations that have an established artistic and administrative track record, as well as a history of fiscal responsibility. The Foundation does not make grants to individuals, nor does it provide funds for project support, audience development, direct subsidy of reduced-price admissions, conduit organizations (agencies that disburse funds to individuals or other organizations), renovation projects, loans, capital or endowment campaigns.
